Ocean Beach and Sunset Cliffs

Did you expect anything else? Of course I took my hoops! This is Ocean Beach- a more down to earth kinda beach with tons of hippies and surfers. I thoroughly enjoyed my day walking around and entertaining the other people at Sunset Cliffs while we watched the sun go down over the pacific- (my first time seeing this of course!)

Sunny San Diego!

Someone told me that we are in a bit of a cold spell here- if we were I didn't notice!! I am dressing in tanks during the day though it gets pretty chilly at night. Today I joined the community center so I could use the pool! Its an olympic sized outdoor heated pool that is sooo clean and not crowded! This is awesome for my workouts:0 They also have pool tables, bbq grills/patios for picnics, and a fitness room plus I can bring 6 guests at a time- who's first?

The beautiful drive to California.....

It is just so different out here- everywhere I looked I wanted to take a picture! The bottom pictures of the mountains of rocks turned out pretty good- they remind me of landscaping rock; it looked like they would slide right down the sides any second! Hope you enjoy the scenery as much as I did!

Cactus Crazy in Saguaro National Park!

This was a pretty cool place for a hike right? The really tall "typical looking" catci are called saguaro, the one with the yellow "flowers" on top is a barrel, and the one with all the "leaf" looking things. They were cooler than I expected them to be- so if you get the chance- go check em' out or visit this page!

Fun Cactus Facts:
Saguaros take about 75-100 years to grow an arm!

Saguaros actually have a wood like material inside!

The outer skin of the cactus expands and contracts like an accordion and it can hold about a ton of water inside that layer!

I went down to Tucson, AZ- and there they were just waitin' round for me!!!

For anyone who doesn't know the title comes from a song that I absolutely love called Thank God for Jack Daniels:) Either way this is Lori and Brian's cute bungalow in Tucson, AZ. Brody and I slept in the room we princesses deserve and hooped it up a bit on the porch. There were cacti everywhere! This was a funky kinda hippie town I think I could spend a little more time in. I caught up with a friend of a friend named Ed in Tucson- HI ED!

TOMBSTONE,AZ -"The town too tough to die"

Hiya from Tucson, AZ! Lori, Brian and I visited Tombstone, AZ today. This is the home of the O.K.Coral and its infamous shoot out. The town was a western town set in the late 1800's. We had great had great food in a saloon called Big Nose Kate's, saw a live shoot out at the OK Coral, went on a tour of a silver mine and saw a real live western bar fight- real marshals! Im in Tucson, AZ till Monday then its off to San Diego!

EL PASO! The Pass!

So when you drive from Dallas westward, there is long stretch of road with no gas stations or towns or anything for hours so have a back up plan! I had to detour to New Mexico to find a gas station-and then I arrived in El Paso! Tons of mountains and natural beauty. In El Paso I stayed with my friends Sara and Tyler- so fun! Here are picture of their house and views of the surrounding area. I ventured off into the mountains for cool hoop pictures! Hoop u enjoy them:) The people driving along the highway probably did!

Texas is really wide...I mean really really wide

Another leg of the drive complete and I am having a great trip! This drive was quite a marathon run mostly due to the redundancy of the road through the desert and the lack of cell phone reception throughout most of the day. With only minor stops and a slight detour into New Mexico near Carlsbad for gas the entire drive took about 11 hours. I'm in El Paso visiting my friends Sarah and Tyler so look for pictures from there next!

The Heart of Texas!

Wow- I got so lucky in Dallas with this amazing view from the 18th floor of the West End Hotel.

The room wasn't fabulous but the view certainly made up for it.- Note the awesome balcony but the doors were permanently sealed:(

Not as cute as Sam and I but I tried! Me and Dallas! Didn't have much time here but I did do some walking around and had some drinks at a local steakhouse- this city was so clean compared to Baltimore- I actually kept looking for trash but didn't see much more than a wrapper here or there! Go Green Dallas! I do believe that the EPA has an office here- I wonder if that has anything to do with the cleanliness?

More tomorrow after I drive to El Paso to see more friends!

Pictures from the road...

The Never-ending sunsets are AMAZING!! This lasted for almost 2 hours! From Memphis to Little Rock, Arkansas

This is what happens when you stop to buy your cat something special at Walmart to lay on because you feel bad for her being pinned up in the car: she sits beside it the rest of the ride as if it is cramping her space.

Home of the King

Hello from Graceland- Memphis Tennessee!

Wow- I have to say I was quite surprised by my experiences at Graceland- I guess I was expecting something very different-instead I got a trip to the 1970's! Here are a few pics in case you haven't been. Happy to have paid my respects to the King while I passed through but I think I have completely overfilled that void.

Tennessee ya later

In case you all were wondering- Brody is doing just fine on the road- see:) She looks happy- right??

Another beautiful night in Nashville, Tennessee with Sam and the skyline.
You wouldn't believe how long it takes to get pictures like this! haha

Sam and I at the Grand Ol Opry (at the Ryman Auditorium) and for those who don't know apparently the Opry isn't a place- its a live radio show! Interesting right?

Me and my two favorite guys- ha ha- Us ay the Jack Daniels Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee. The entire tour was a blast filled with fabulous aromas of all things that make Jack. Our halarious tour guide's comments filled in the more boring parts- she insisted that the steam from the yeast was the "angel's share" (of Jack) and that the ducks on premises said not "quack, quack" but instead "drink jack" - I highly recommend this adventure but don't forget- no drinking:) Its a dry county so they serve lynchburg lemonade only- minus the jack :(

More from the road- Next on to Dallas Texas!
